Winter Sunrise Mountain Elopement - North Georgia Photographer
Ali & Dante travelled up to Ellijay, GA from Florida with their sweet dogs, Gunner & Chloe, wanting a ‘winter elopement in the mountains’ and they definitely got it!! This was one of the coldest days of my entire life - 27 degrees with an 11 degree wind chill. I had to take frequent breaks to keep my fingers from going numb, but it was 100000% worth it. They got married on top of my favorite mountain overlook here in Ellijay, GA and we watched as the early morning clouds hovered over the mountains…
After their beautiful & intimate ceremony, officiated by my partner, Andrew, we all headed down to Das Kaffee Haus for breakfast and warm drinks. After making things official and signing the marriage license, Ali, Dante, & I headed to a second spot for some more photos with Gunner & Chloe! At this beautiful locations, the clouds started to part and we got some blue skies and sunshine!
Ali & Dante knew each other as kids playing soccer together, and following college they reconnected through soccer coaching, and their dogs, Gunner & Chloe. 7 years later, they decided it was time to make things official! Soccer has been a super important part of their relationship (we of course bonded over the World Cup - one of my favorite things ever), and so it was only right to get photos with their Arsenal scarves (which my dad was not impressed with - he’s a Leeds United fan).
These two were one of the sweetest couples I’ve ever worked with. Despite the below freezing temperatures, and their dog chewing through 2 leashes, Ali & Dante’s energy was calm, positive, and super warm to be around. I feel so lucky to have captured their special day and I hope you love these photos as much as I do!
