Molly & Mitch have become dear friends of mine and getting to document this moment was SO special. We all spent Halloween night together, and they were unrecognizable as Beetlejuice & Babadook, and knowing that I was going to photograph their surprise proposal the next day was so crazy.
The dreamiest sunrise proposal in the mountains with Dylan & Simran. I had so much fun planning this with Dylan, and getting to meet Simran was SUCH a joy! Absolutely adored this morning getting to know them both and photographing their engagement.
Words can’t explain how much I adore these two and how special their day was. Myself and Andrew actually met Camille and Cole a couple weeks in advance of their elopement to chat and get to know each other, which went SO well and made their elopement day even more special. Andrew officiated beautifully and it could not have been a prettier fall morning.
Madi & Kirsten reached out for ‘wedding photos’ following their courthouse elopement, and we got the most gorgeous October day to celebrate. We met at one of my favorite locations - mountains, cliffs, water, and a little bit of field too! They were such a joy to hangout with and we laughed so much throughout this evening. I hope you love the photos as much as I do! Film at the end. Enjoy xx
Natalie & Shane’s Atlanta Botanical Garden Wedding was something out of a dream. With the most incredible vendor team, after a slight rain delay, their ceremony was set up minutes prior to Natalie and Shane walking down the aisle (Thanks Georgia Weather!), and it turned out so magical.
Grace and Coleman had a courthouse wedding followed by meeting me in the mountains for some wedding photos. It was such a wonderful time getting to capture these two as freshly married lovebirds! Grace arranged her own flowers, and even brought me a slice of her wedding cake which was SO good. I loved getting to know them both and exploring this location with them! Shot on digital & film! Enjoy xx
As if one proposal isn’t special enough - how about a DOUBLE PROPOSAL!!!!!!!!
Avery & Anna have become such dear friends, and when Avery asked me to shoot their surprise engagement I was SO beyond excited. We met at sunrise in Ellijay, and the weather was hinting of fall with a cool breeze and temps in the 60s. We hiked up to the location and about 10 photos in, I gave Avery the signal to propose. Little did we know, Anna ALSO had her ring for Avery, and she ran to grab it from her bag, and then came back and proposed to Avery while Avery was still on her knee.
My freshman year roommate Meredith, and her sweet Fiancé, Christian at the Marietta Garden Center for their engagement photos! I’ve known Meredith for almost eight years now, and it’s so sweet growing up together and getting to document her life! The first time I met Christian was at a photo shoot, and I’m so happy I got to photograph their engagement photos in historic Marietta, GA. Meredith and I both live near the Marietta Square and we love our little town so it was only right to take their photos here!
Ari & Zay’s engagement photos at the incredible Swan House in Atlanta, GA. Absolutely loved getting to photograph these lovebirds at one of the most historic and beautiful venues in the south. The Swan House is truly a MAGICAL place for engagement photos and I’m so glad I got document this summer day there. Ari and Zay were so much fun to spend time with, and I still get to see them from time to time at our local Trader Joe’s!
When Kalan reached out needing a photographer for this aquarium proposal, I immediately was so excited!! I hadn’t been to the Georgia Aquarium since I was a kid, and it was truly so magical getting to go back for this special moment with Kalan, Megan, and the fish. We had the whole place to ourselves, and getting to walk through the back halls to sneak into the Ocean Voyager theatre was so surreal. I am so eager to do this again sometime - there is really nothing like being in the aquarium when it’s empty.
Andrew and I visited my parents abroad this month and got to stay with them for two weeks. It was so lovely having tea made for me every morning (me and my mom’s love language), and getting to see the family dogs again (Riley the most handsome, and three legged Oaklie the most cuddly).
June is always one of my favorite months in the mountains. When driving to this shoot, I discovered the most amazing yellow wildflowers on the side of the highway and I immediately knew we would be shooting there. I had also found a new spot a week prior that had an incredible view during golden hour, so that’s where we ended the shoot! It was one of those ‘follow and trust me’ sort of shoots, pulling over to take pictures at random places. But it was so magical!
Intimate Weddings have a special place in my heart - the gathering of just your closest loved ones and no one else is so meaningful. Carson and Hunter have known each other their whole lives, and it was so sweet getting to witness their true commitment to each other. They got married on a cloudy May day at Stella’s Garden Estate in Commerce, GA and it was truly the most beautiful evening!
I’ve known Autumn for over a decade now (we used to walk to school together!!) and was so excited to see that her & Hayley got engaged!! Loved this night with them both so much. We shot at one of my favorite fields here in Marietta, GA and they frolicked around the grass on a gorgeous spring day!
I took Sofia & Noah’s engagement pictures in May of last year and was so excited for their wedding day in Knoxville. It arrived so fast and the day was filled with love & joy, family and friends, and a fun dance floor to remember! The ceremony took place at Noah’s childhood home (so sentimental) and the intimate celebration consisted of 30 of their closest friends and family! Noah’s dad sang for them during the ceremony and it had the whole room in tears.
Savannah & Jeremy, both pilots, got married on a breezy Saturday in Perry, GA. A storm was headed our way and with it came super strong winds, and I’ll be honest, I’m obsessed with the windy pictures from this day. Savannah’s dress & hair blew so beautifully in the breeze, and being a pilot means she was comfortable facing & embracing the strong gusts, as you do when flying!
Kiera and Dwane met me at one of my favorite fields in Marietta at golden hour. I brought a cute quilt, a basket, and some flowers to make this photo shoot have a ‘dreamy’ vibe, and I even brought vintage style UNO cards since Dwane proposed with them years ago!! These photos were in honor of their 5 year wedding anniversary - I love when couples celebrate with a photoshoot.
Is it weird that after 20 minutes with Grace and Nolan I feel like we could be best friends??? They were literally such a sweet couple and we were all laughing for so much of the shoot. Grace is from Charleston and wanted to have water in their engagement session, so I really tried to channel that coastal vibe with this location off Lake Acworth. The docks and lake were so so pretty at sunset, and it truly felt so cinematic being there at the most gorgeous time of day.
This is my THIRD shoot with Anna & Avery and they are just such a JOY to work with!! Their love for each other shines so loud and beautifully - it’s truly so easy to capture them. For this shoot, we met right before sunset at one of my favorite fields here in Marietta. It’s the only one with tall grass at the moment, and the view of golden hour is so lovely here. For outfits, I suggested earthy colors and also mentioned ‘all denim’ because why not? Well when they put on their all denim outfit, I knew it was gonna be an insane shoot. The blue hues with the golden light were just PERFECT and it was giving vintage Levi’s campaign in the best way.
Speaking as both a North Georgia Proposal Photographer and as someone who just got engaged (over the summer in Portugal - it was magic!), I know how valuable it is to have photos of that special moment. Andrew and I both look back at our proposal photos often and remember something we didn’t previously from that special day!
Adeline has been a dear friend of mine since 2019, and since then, we have taken countless photos together. I was lucky enough to photograph her and Clay for the first time in early 2021, then again in 2022 for their engagement photos, and now in 2024 for photos with their new family member, Petunia. We met up on an oddly warm December day and explored this new location together!
This intimate wedding at Juliette Chapel in Dahlonega, GA was such a fun evening to capture! Vanessa reached out to me and immediately was SO kind and trusting. She is an incredible wedding hair vendor (check out her work here) and I felt so honored that she chose ME to capture her wedding day!
Here’s what she had to say: “Brides please read this if you want the best wedding photos ever! Harriet made my wedding photo dreams come true. I think it was everything from the professionalism to the personality to the literal photos. She is everything that a bride would want on her wedding day! My photos came in earlier than expected and I just want to frame them all!
Harriet, Thank you for everything! You captured every special moment on my day. You are a true artist and have SO much talent! I would choose you again and again!”
Here’s what they had to say about their session: From Zach: “Harriet is a PHENOMENAL photographer! I found her through google and so glad I decided to go with her for my surprise engagement photos. Neither myself or my fiancée had ever done a photo shoot before and she made it so so so simple for us to feel comfortable the entire time. She really knows what she’s doing and her photography skills are out of this world. She was great to work with and communication with her was a breeze! Anybody looking for a photographer do not hesitate to reach out to Harriet because I promise she is amazing!! 10/10 recommend”
I met Alexis & Taylor (& sweet Rex) at sunrise for this shoot and we got SUCH a pretty morning for their maternity photos. It was way chillier than it looks but Alexis & Taylor were such troopers with the weather and I love how these photos turned out!
Foggy engagement shoot of my dreams! This shoot with Mackenzie, Carson, and Cash (the most perfect dog), was so much fun. We had these locations to ourselves and the weather was so perfect!!! Mackenzie and Carson were so easy to talk to and I had so much fun getting to hangout with them while bonding over our love for pit bulls.
The most MAGICAL elopement with the sweetest couple ever. Annie & Brandon reached out wanting a waterfall elopement - and I was SO excited to help them plan. I put together a few waterfall options, and we ended up choosing this beautiful park just outside of Blue Ridge for their special day. We woke up super early for sunrise - only to be met with rain, but that didn't stop Annie & Brandon from having a beautiful ceremony. We had the whole place to ourselves and Andrew (my favorite officiant ;) married them among the falling leaves and rushing waterfall. Days like this truly remind me that I have my DREAM job. And DREAM couples. Thank you Annie & Brandon for trusting me to capture your special day!!
Summer is my absolute favorite season - and it has been for a while now. I find that some of my most fulfilling and creative shoots come around at this time of year, and this couples session in Ellijay with Olivia & Henry was no different. I had posted on my story about wanting to do a photoshoot with a vintage bike, and I found this location last fall and knew it would be the perfect vibe. Olivia replied and said she had the most perfect bike - and she was so right! Incorporating something you love (eg cycling) into your session can make for such genuine & authentic couples photos. This session truly felt like a dream to me and I hope to do many more summer shoots this year!
Weekday sunrise elopements have become my favorite kind of wedding to photograph! Why should you elope at sunrise in the mountains? The getting up super early part isn’t so great, but everything else - from having the location to yourself, and the rest of the day to celebrate with friends and family (while I go home and edit!), it is truly a dream come true.
We met up for this sunrise shoot only to be met with incredibly thick fog - out of nowhere. I’ll admit at first I was feeling pretty discouraged with the mountains being totally covered and no sun in sight, but it ended up being the coolest vibe ever for these photos and I am just obsessed with how they turned out. I took Kate’s high school senior portraits back in 2018, and now she is engaged to her high school sweetheart, David, and getting to take their engagement photos in the North Georgia mountains was such a full circle moment!
A dreamy engagement session at the Marietta Garden Center with Alexandria and Matt! I absolutely loved taking these photos and spending time with them on a gorgeous sunny day.
